One of the many ways to use the HD500X is to set up a patch and then use the 8 footswitches to turn single effects on and off, as if you had 8 single pedals in a pedal board. The advantage of doing it with a multi fx is that you have HD amp modelling and over 100 pedals to choose from, and when saved as a single patch, you can recall many different setups for different songs !
