For any follower of Jesus, when things get hard and you’re really backed into a corner, your theology gets very simple all of a sudden. It doesn’t get less deep. Just simple. When you’re in your darkest moments, you aren’t thinking about complicated systematic theology. In those moments you are left with the handful of things that are the bedrock of your faith. Things like… Jesus died for me. Things like… Jesus rose from the grave. Things like… Jesus loves me. Those beliefs can sustain you through life’s darkest moments.
