The ragas of the night can also evoke an atmosphere of pathos, buoyancy, ecstasy, revelry or courtly splendor. The range of moods is virtually inexhaustible. The volume presents raga Maru Bihag, sung by Shruti Sadolikar, raga Jaijaiwanti, sung by Rajan and Sajan Mishra and raga Malkauns, rendered by Hariprasad Chaurasia on the flute.
