Today, February 18, 2024, the leader of the rock group DDT, Yuri Shevchuk, at a concert in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, dedicated one of his most famous songs, “Freedom,” to the memory of Alexei Navalny. Shevchuk said: “Alexei Navalny was killed. He spoke to us, Russians, about freedom. He reminded us that we can all become free. He said that faith without freedom is fanaticism. He said that work without freedom is slavery. He said that love without freedom is tyranny. Nothing happens without freedom, without it everything is painted black... We want to dedicate our song “Freedom“ to his memory.“
