When I started Hopeful Skies almost four years ago, I never imagined it would run to be anywhere near 200 episodes. I always had 100 episodes as the ultimate goal in the back of my head for the longest time. Then a hundred episodes came and went, and now I find myself here. This was been by far the most gratifying hobby of my life. I'd almost say it's transcended being a mere hobby: Hopeful Skies has become a part of my daily life. I've gotten so use to the rhythm of piecing together mixes every week, that I haven't realized how many weeks of my life have been invested in producing HS. Though it's definitely been a bit of a slog at a few hectic points in my life, at the end of the day it's always a joy sharing beautiful music with people who love it just as much as I do. I believe music is one of many ways God was allowed us to have a taste of His infinite beauty. There are definitely some songs that I'll almost say have a touch of the divine about them. I thank my Heavenly Father not only for allowed me to hear so much beautiful music, but for allowed me to connect with so many amazing people through the MPH community. I'm not sure how much longer I'll keep up Hopeful Skies, but no matter what the future holds, this show - and far more, the people who I've met through it - will be a cherished part of my life. I wanted to do one mega-mix highlighting some of the best tracks I encountered during my “Hopeful Skies era“ that had the biggest impact on me. However, the mix grew to be so big I decided to turn it into two sets. This compilation highlights the first 17 tracks I consider to be among the best of the best I've heard since 2020. It's a simple concept, but it's association with sky and divinity/the heavenly capture the essence of what I want Hopeful Skies to be. I share tunes that I feel captures a very real divine beauty that's intrinsic to all creation, music included. The concept of 天 captures a small taste of that beauty.
