Inspired by the novel by Victor Pelevin, Generation P immerses the viewer in a unique world where the boundaries of reality are erased under the influence of hallucinations. One of the highlights is a fictional speech by Che Guevara about the harmful effects of television on the human psyche. Despite the surreal nature of the script, the creators of the film skillfully recreate the atmosphere of Moscow in the 90s, making it the background for the development of the plot. The main character, Vavilen Tatarsky, finds a new meaning in life, working in an advertising agency and adapting Western brands for the Russian consumer, which symbolizes the desire for Americanization in post-perestroika Russia. The film is awash with intellectual humor, special effects and candid scenes, which make it not just entertainment, but also a deep reflection on the transformation of society, where former pioneers turn into admirers of consumer culture, symbolized by the brands Pepsi and Coca-Cola. This film offers viewers not only a unique visual experience, but also makes them think about the influence of globalization and media on the formation of personality in the post-Soviet space.
