''Maria'' was released as the first single off the album, althought it didn't charted well on the U.S. (#82 on Billboard's Hot 100) it topped the charts in the U.K. and was a top 10 hit on countries like Austria, Belgium, Germany, Sweden and Switzerland. For the song's promotion, remixes were made by Talvin Singh and Soul Solution. The music video for the track was directed by Alan Smithee, and depicted the band playing the song on a NY apartment.
