Horrific accusations of Palestinian prisoner r*pe came to light in April after a report was published by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). In early August, leaked videos online showed a detainee being r*ped while IDF soldiers covered the act with riot shields. At the time, a lawmaker in Knesset said soldiers should be allowed to r*pe detained Palestinians, further fuelling anger over Israel’s disregard for humanitarian law. Sde Teiman doubles as an Israeli military base and detention centre for Palestinians arrested in Gaza.
