The loooong wait for Marvel’s Black Widow is finally over! For over a year we only had a few trailers to show us scenes of snowy fights, car chases with the mysterious Taskmaster, Natasha’s strange family and one really cool looking mid-air chase. The movie proved to be exactly what the trailers promised with plenty of action, intrigue and surprisingly poignant family moments underscored with tragedy. While all that was great, our main concern was really about Natasha’s long secret origin. There have been few scenes scattered across The Avengers, Age of Ultron and Endgame that hinted at things like Dreykov’s daughter, the Red Room and Natasha’s strange family history. Well now we have all the answers and most of them are pretty heartbreaking. What’s even more interesting are the details Marvel thought we’d miss on the first viewing. Easter eggs that point to Black Widow’s deep friendship with Hawkeye, her greatest hits across the MCU or even her comic history. It turns out that Natasha wasn’t the only star, or even Black Widow, to appear in the movie. There were actually references to Nat’s little sister Yelena, played by Florence Pugh, hiding in plain sight the whole time. With plenty of pockets too. Her adopted parents both had their share as well. The Red Guardian and Iron Maiden are significant Marvel characters that were adapted with heart by the movie.
