New to the collection of airplane accidents: a plane in the U.S. emergency landed because of... lice on board The American Airlines aircraft was traveling from Los Angeles to New York, but the pilot had to land halfway in Phoenix. According to one of the travelers, this was due to lice spotted on the head of one of the female passengers. The woman’s neighbors allegedly saw the insects in her hair and reported it to the flight attendant. The pilots made an emergency course change and aborted the flight. As a result, the passengers were given vouchers for a free hotel room and were not sent back to New York until 12 hours later.... Source: Global News (EU, USA)
