Among the thousands of petitions submitted by British citizens and UK residents to parliament, some weird and wonderful ones haven’t made the cut. Those that are approved receive a response from the government once they receive 10,000 signatures. At 100,000 signatures, a petition will be considered for a debate in Parliament. Many petitions are rejected because it’s a matter the government is not directly responsible for, there’s already a petition on the same issue, or it doesn’t ask for a clear action.
