In this video Powerslide's infamous Jürgen Pfitzner and his side kick Sam Crofts try and explain to you what heat molding is, how it works and most importantly how it is done correctly. Heat molding is a technique, which uses higher temperatures to alter the shape of the carbon shell, so pressure points can be easily corrected. Due to the durability of the carbon fiber, the process is repeatable and won't interfere with the integrity of the molecular structure of the material. As soon as you have unscrewed your wheels, you can put them inside the oven for about 20-30 min. with a temperature of around 80-90°C. Make sure to check in on your skates from time to time, just to make sure that the heat molding process goes as planned. Take your skates out with caution, as the metal parts of your skates will be quite hot and then lace them up as tight as humanly possible and mantain a slightly bend over position as the skates cool down.
