Addressing the general debate of the 77th Session of the General Assembly of the UN on Thursday (22 Sep), Barbados Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley said, “a Security Council that retains the power of veto in the hands of a few will still lead us to war, as we have seen this year.” Mottley stated, “It is just within our power, to be able to make that difference and that definable change, and we must decide whether we want to stand for peace, or whether we want to stand for love and whether we want to stand for prosperity, knowing that we choose to do so at the most difficult time and from the most difficult and deep place that we can do so, in a very, very long time.” She said, “The century in which we live
