Become a part of UNCAGE! Why do we need animal rights video games? For millennia, our primary mode of transmitting knowledge across groups and generations has been through legends and myths. This preference is deeply ingrained in our brains, which process information most effectively when woven into a compelling story. Consequently, storytelling proves to be a more potent tool for conveying complex moral issues compared to pure logical reasoning. Among various storytelling forms, interactive storytelling stands out as the most influential – immersing audiences into a narrative, allowing them to experience its world and characters from within. Thus, there exists no more powerful medium than video games and interactive media, in general, to enable audiences to perceive the world through the eyes of animals. Despite the abundance of impactful documentaries advocating for animal rights and veganism, the gaming realm has seen only a handful of attempts to communicate these critical issues. It feels like our movement is missing out on utilizing the most significant and powerful platform to speak for animals. Game Voice Cast: We are proud to announce that we were able to secure the help of the following literal and figurative Rockstars who are going to lend animals their voice in UNCAGE: Derrick Green (Sepultura), Tanya O Callaghan (Bass for Whitesnake, Bruce Dickinson, Dee Snider, and Puscifer), Mille Petrozza of KREATOR, Moses Pelham, and Hannes Jaenicke who will be voicing Miles the meerkat. Mission: UNCAGE represents the continuation of Patrik Baboumian’s enduring commitment to kindle a compassionate worldview through creativity, storytelling, and technology. This immersive video game places players in the shoes of imaginary animal rights activists, those courageous souls who risk prosecution to expose – and fight against – the cruelty inflicted upon animals. The innovative setup empowers players to confront the harsh realities of animal abuse while also providing the means to effect change. UNCAGE shares the noble aims of real-life undercover animal rights documentaries but diverges in its transformative potential. Rather than leaving players passive and disheartened, as many documentaries do, UNCAGE empowers them to become heroes for the animals. We firmly believe this approach holds the key to raising awareness about animal rights, particularly among younger audiences, which is why UNCAGE is designed for a PG-13 rating.
