Help support my channel PayPal Donation Buy Me a Coffee In this video, I show you how to quickly and neatly sew a flat fell seam without any special sewing machine attachment ( FELLING FOOT) or having to trim your seam allowance and then try to press a perfectly even fold. Flat Fell seams keep seam allowances flat and cover the raw edges. It is a very strong seam and you often see them sewn on the inseam of denim jeans. It’s also a great seam for bags because of its strength. It is a seam made by placing one edge inside a folded edge and then stitching the fold down. One or both of the seam edges are topstitched which encases the raw edges and keeps them from fraying. When doing this type of seam, you will need to adjust your seam allowances for your project. The layer that folds on top the the other layer needs to have double seam allowance in order for it to finish to correct measurement. Practice on scrap pieces of fabric before attempting it on your project. It doesn’t take long to perfect!
