Starting a clothing line can be hard and expensive so I wanted to share some ways you can start now with little money. 1. The first step is make a name and company logo that people would want to wear. Think Gucci, Louis Vuitton & Versace. They all have a status symbol feel to them. When Creation House of Barretti I really went back to my roots and used my original name which to me had a long-standing heritage and class to it. SO pick a company name you think people will wear. 2. Work with companies like Ali Express, Etsy, or independent designers who are already making a shell of the clothing you like. Example: You buy 6 pair of plain non name jeans from Ali Express and you go to your local fabric store and buy bling trim and make a branding patch with your log on it. Then you can make a few custom patches with your logo on them.. YOU NOW HAVE JUST DESIGNED YOUR FIRST ITEM! 3. Making clothing from scratch.. Draw your item, buy the fabric, buttons, and trims. Draw out on paper exactly where you want things to go . Find a local Taylor in your area who will make the item. You may have to go to your local craft store and buy a basic patten that closely matches your drawing. NOW YOU HAVE DESIGNED FROM SCRATCH YOUR FIRST OUTFIT! 4. If you want to mass produce in a factory then google a list of clothing manufactures, interview them, FYI there are a ton in California . Then simple send them drawing and photos and be exact in your description. Opening orders usually start at 500 pieces. 5.
