English : Deutsch : French : Italian : Spanish : Chinese : Russian : Japanese : The ‘Garimpeiros’ make a run towards the exit of the mine gallery; they have placed dynamite in the walls that will explode in a few moments. An abundant amount of dust pushes its way out through the gaping hole. The three men take their time for the air to become breathable again... They enter with a rapid heartbeat as always, but this time a gap has opened up, leaving us to discover a major fault, in which lies a “monster.“ A rock crystal that visibly weighs an estimated 5 tons. This documentary will allow you to take a glimpse into the world of Brazilian ‘garimpeiros’ that search for the largest crystals in the world: the Giant Crystals. In the city of Araçuai, in Governador Valadares, the miners, the dealers and the collectors have no limits as to the weight or the size of the gems they collect. You enter deep into their lives, discoveries, and their traditions. Along the way you will also discover the mine of Capon near The Ouro Preto which produces the Imperial Topaz with colors ranging from golden yellow to mauve. Then the South of Brasil, in a town called Amethyst, you step into the depths of the earth to discover amethyst geodes so large, a human body in its entirety may enter within. These geodes were formed in lava lakes at the time of the great dinosaurs. These exceptional gems are used in Brasil for esoteric practices and in New Age ceremonies which you will gracefully enter through this film. You can then view in this documentary, the most beautiful crystals, which are exported to the collections of museums, such as the Museum of Natural History in Paris, now closed for the general public’s eyes to see. You will then witness before you, creative works of art of Munsteiner’s Jewelry collections, realized from these giant crystals of Brazil.
