The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) suffered its deadliest day of the war in Gaza so far on Monday, after 24 soldiers were killed. Of those, 21 were killed during a single attack in Khan Younis, when Hamas fighters fired anti-tank missiles at the group, causing two buildings to collapse on top of them. ‘A very complex operation to evacuate the casualties and locate the injured’ has been ongoing, according to an IDF statement. The circumstances of the other three deaths have not yet been revealed. According to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Monday was ‘one of the most difficult days since the outbreak of the war.’ However, he vowed that ‘we will not stop fighting until the absolute victory.’ Around 220 IDF soldiers have reportedly been killed since the start of the war.
