This piece was my second entry into the awesome #GrimDarkCards challenge that was hosted on Instagram. You should go check out that hashtag, some truly amazing pieces created by everyone involved. The challenge was to recreate in miniature, a piece of John Blanche artwork from a single card drawn for you from the deck of Dark Millennium playing cards. After completing my first entry and realising there was still quite some time left I decided to have a go at the “wildcard“ entry which was a classic image of The Emperor sat upon the Golden Throne by John Blanche on the back of the playing cards. I had quite a few people ask to see all around the diorama, so I quickly put together this short video to oblige.
