Four years ago, Salomon Winter Sports employees Nans Girodengo and Lionel Favret (aka “Yo”) commenced a journey to create the industry’s first fully recyclable helmet. It wasn’t easy, but along the way they found eager collaborators who provided the expertise and enthusiasm to continue the project. We tracked down Nans and Yo on the slopes of Chamonix, then bribed them with a tasty fondue meal to get them to share the design challenges and solutions that got them from a blank page to a beautiful new helmet that is a snow sports industry first.
