The night before we’d dealt with a once in a lifetime windstorm and it was all we could to secure our tent down in the gale force wind. Our canoe was pulled well up on the beach and tied off to a log that was embedded in the sad but the wind was so strong it blew the loop of the rope off of the end of the log and continued blowing the canoe all the way into a tributary creek that carried the canoe into the Stikine River. I went to find it and was lucky to have had some help from a local in a power boat. With a significant chunk of time out of our day, we finally got onto the river.
