Anthorn - Ruin Of Twilight (full album, 2022)

Korpituli Productions have unearthed some obsidian gems from the archives of Finnish black metal in the form of Anthorn - a shortlived band that released two demos and played one gig in 1999 before disbanding. This release, titled Ruin Of Twilight, collects together this subterranean band’s two demos into a mastered album in cassette and digital formats, in what I hope will be the first of more crate-digging releases to be showcases through this excellent label. The tracks here deliver some exemplary melodicism, roughed up with that characteristic frost-blasted Finnish rawness mixing the kind of fiendish malevolence and mysticism that legendary black metal is made of. Pre-orders are open on the label bandcamp now. Tapes are due in October, limited to 100 copies in uv printed shells, with 4-panel j-cards in clear cases.
