Nara served as the capital of Japan for 84 years in the 8th century, and at that time was called Heijokyo. The area around Nara Park is full of historic places to see, including Todaiji Temple, Kofukuji Temple, Kasuga Taisha Shrine, Yakushi-ji, Tōshōdai-ji, and the Heijō Palace. All of these temples and shrines are part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site - Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara. In this park you can enjoy meeting sika deer (シカ or 鹿 shika), which are considered to be servants of the gods of Kasuga Taisha shrine. Over 1,500 sika deers scattered all over the park. 🎧 This video contains Binaural Audio.
