(Profits go to charity!): Jack Stauber is a singer-songwriter known usually for his experimental music and unique VHS style animations, with his most popular song - buttercup but today I want to talk about Jack’s most recent work, and in my opinion his most impactful and meaningful project, a 12 minute long short film titled OPAL. OPAL first aired on Adult Swim at midnight on Halloween of 2020 and at first glance seems to be nothing more than a vhs animated short featuring Claymation characters and classic Jack Stauber-esque musical interludes, but dig beneath the surface and you’ll find a deep and emotional story that manages to tell a surprising amount in such a short space of time.
