On October 1, 2025, protests at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) building in the 4310 block of South Macadam Avenue in Portland, Oregon, led to clashes with federal authorities. Demonstrators blocked the area around the building, and law enforcement used pepper spray to disperse the crowd. During the incident, one protester was arrested on the spot, and another was detained later. Authorities confirmed that a journalist covering the protest was injured, presumably during the dispersal. The suspect fled before police intervention. Federal security service units and local police established a perimeter and conducted targeted arrests around the ICE building.
