So, The Boys is back again with some absolutely crazy set pieces and action scenes, pop culture references, inside jokes and nods to the comic books. So we thought we would go back through episode 4 of The Boys Season 4 and take a look at some things you might have missed. This will include some parallels between The Boys and other comic book material (such as Marvel and character in particular), the importance of that suped up hamster that went on a rampage, how Hughie’s superpowers differ from the comic books, how the series differs from its character’s origins in the book, the inside joke at one of the biggest companies in the world’s expense, a quick reference to an iconic movie from the 70s, a joke made at a real life pop show, some pretty clever foreshadowing in the episode, hidden characters in the background (predominantly in art form), the ever increasing similarities between Butcher and Homelander, another nod to the Dawn of the Seven movie, a possible nod to one of the biggest shows of all time and a hilarious joke reference to ENTOURAGE. These are some of the things you might have missed in Episode 4 of The Boys’ third season. What did you make of the episode? Did you catch all these references? Did we miss any?
