This song was a huge turning point for us. We wrote Marching On in August 2015 - the previous 3 months had been a dry spell in the studio. We hadn’t made a single song we were happy with because we were being pulled in so many different creative directions by opinions from the label & the team…even our own self-doubt was holding us down. We finally decided to say FUCK IT & began creating this song with our friends Ras & Andrew Goldstein. Marching On is about trusting yourself, loving yourself through the lowest lows, & continuing on even when it seems impossible. This was the first track we decided to incorporate musical elements from our Pakistani roots into & it was one of the handful of songs we mixed with the legendary Chris Lord Alge (which will forever be 1 of the coolest things we say in our musical careers).
