“Turn me on“ on tape: Recorded from Norah Jones' album “Come away with me“ on Ampex “Fine Line“ F-44 reel tape recorder. Circa 1964, this machine was made in Redwood City, California. The tape is 1/4 inch Maxell UD XL 50-60B, recorded at 7 1/2 inches per second. Tape transferred to a 7-inch Scotch metal reel. Source is a CD, playing on a Philips AJ3935 CD Clock Radio, circa 2005. The playback machine is an Ampex 800 series (860) solid state machine. Made in 1966 by Ampex by their consumer division in Elk Gr
