Everything Counts (Live At The Pasadena Rose Bowl, June 18th 1988) 101 is a live album and documentary by Depeche Mode released in 1989 chronicling the final leg of the band's Music for the Masses Tour and the final show at the Pasadena Rose Bowl. Group member Alan Wilder is credited with coming up with the name; the performance was the 101st and final performance of the tour (and coincidentally also the number of a famous highway in the area). The film was directed and produced by D.A. Pennebaker. lyrics : The handshake seals the contract From the contract there's no turning back The turning point of a career In Korea being insincere The holiday was fun-packed The contract, still intact The grabbing hands grab all they can All for themselves - after all The grabbing hands grab all they can All for themselves - after all It's a competitive world Everything counts in large amounts The graph on the wall Tells the story of it all
