Week 2 in the ongoing Ⓢ series, which follows the construction of a new 13-story senior living building in San Francisco. This is a #construction #timelapse with various closeups and “sub-time-lapses“ at various speeds, condensing the week of February 10 - 15, 2020, into about 22 minutes. Most of the work in this episode has to do with clearing a spot for the base of the tower crane, an initial concrete pour to provide a working surface layer, laying of some of the rebar and conduit (there's more to come in future episodes), and putting the base segment of the tower crane into place (the concrete will be poured around it). A bigger #crane has to come in to lift the base of the tower crane into place. We also see excavators at work, sorting out bricks and other debris old foundations at the site, and the last two of the demolition excavators are carted away, so I guess we can say the demolition phase is over. One thing about this series is that the cameras are facing almost due west. Unfortunately this means they get the full brunt of the sun shining directly on them, and into them, in the afternoons. This is not only bad for photography, exposure, reflections, etc., but I've also been having trouble with the base time-lapse camera overheating and automatically shutting down in the afternoons. So, we'll see how that goes.
