The song was released as a 7“ single, and an extended version was released as a 12“ single and on the film's soundtrack album. In the UK, a shaped picture disc was also released. In 1986, the song received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song and a Grammy nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
