Until the 21st century it was always between protestants and catholics but a new target emerged on September the 11th 2001 for those in control to exploit for their eternal divide and rule tactic. It was some time after this when the former British National Party member Stephen Yaxley-Lennon emerged from a stay in an Israeli kibbutz as Tommy Robinson and formed the EDL, or the EJDL to give it its full name although the J part didn't appear publicly for fear of making its more extreme right members leave. The J being obvious when you look at who his merry band of thugs targetted. From day 1, they went after muslim grooming gangs yet never mentioned the far more numerous non-muslim grooming gangs in existence.
