Bioacousticians tell us that more than half the sounds of nature have disappeared in a span of 50 years. Half! This is one of many consequences of the current ecological collapse — and a telling sign of how our lifestyles have become disconnected from the world around us. “Sucked into interstellar space. Trapped by our fears. Swallowed up by life at 1000 mph. We have forgotten to listen.” This film strives to rediscover the extraordinary sense of being able to hear. At the end of the earth, seeking solitude in the vast white desert of Greenland, some of our senses come back to centre stage: all becomes clearer, louder. Can you hear them? © 2021, UN CERCLE
