Not so long ago, an amazing find was discovered in the storerooms of the Museum of the History of Troops of the Leningrad Military District. Namely: detailed photographs and a complete description of the objects of the “Mannerheim line“, collected in the so-called “black album“. The album is dated 1936! So what happens? Did our command have information about the fortifications three years before the war with Finland ?! But why then there was no information about this album until now? Who made it up? What role did the album play during the Winter War? And why are there still many myths around this war? Why is there an aura of “open adventure“ around it, a war unsuccessful for our country, despite the fact that it ended on Stalin’s terms? So what was this war? And why was it inevitable?
