Hamburg, Federal Republic of Germany (West Germany). Several, mostly C/U shots, taken from unusual angles, of band members playing rock and roll (although very jazzy) - great footage, very loud. Band descends in foreground to reveal dancers on the stage. Various shots of young men and women dancing rock and roll. Couples rocking energetically - throwing and spinning each other in all possible directions, guys swinging girls over shoulders, couples slinging each other over backs, sliding across the floor - looks more like gymnastic contest than dancing. Shots of the dancers are inter-cut with shots of the highly excited audience and the band. Extremely fast and energetic editing, including great music and lots of C/U shots makes this one of the best youth related items in Pathe Newsreels in 1950's. Also - groovy shots of fashion-lovers in the 50's. (F.G.) (Orig “G“) FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV. IT'S FULL OF GREAT DOCUMENTARIES, FASCINATING I
