In this video, I spent the day with Satanist witches in Salem, Massachusetts, aka “The Witch City.” Growing up in Beverly, MA, which is right next door to Salem, I always had a fascination with witchcraft and the history of Salem. Now a place for modern witches to practice freely, just a few hundred years ago, Salem experienced a Witch Hunt that has gone done in history. The Salem Witch Trials began in January of 1692 and by September, only nine months later, 19 people were executed by hanging, 1 man was pressed to death, and hundreds of others died in jail. While some were tortured to confession, many maintained their innocence. Long before the Salem Witch Trials began in the 1400s with the European witch trials. At the end of the 14th century, the plague known as the Black Death killed nearly one-third of the population. Survivors strived to find an explanation and many pointed their fingers at witches, labeling single women or those who held knowledge of ancient folklore as working for Satan.
