Update from viewer Roy Aldo: This rounded back deadlift was first used by the great Tommy Kono, USA. In his book, Weightlifting, Olympic Style, 2001, Tommy ends with chapter 12, entitled “The Loosening Deadlift“. The weight used by the lifter is not important. It should be very light. Generally, after a heavy workout a lifter should do these to decompress the spine, stretch the hamstrings and for overall lumbar muscle tone. Finally,Tommy recommended 8-12 reps for 1 to 2 sets and he stressed that the movement be done slowly and smoothly as Zhou Jun demonstrated in the video above. In your
