It's hard to overstate how calming and inspiring it is to play the Hydrasynth; the poly-aftertouch keybed is remarkably sensitive and expressive, the features and parameters within the synth are probably best in class, the UI is intuitive, patch design is simple despite all the complexity, and I think the engine sounds absolutely beautiful. After a stressful or anxious day in these wild times, sitting down and playing the Hydrasynth is a joy, and soothing. On the other end of my mood spectrum is the Moog DFAM, a drum machine that is super limited but also super inspiring. It sounds deep and rich, and with when you really open it up, the DFAM can head into some wild, anxious territory.
