Today I'm using a special lathe that cuts a 36º edge into a CD to improve the sound quality. Is this aim to find out. Snopes has an entry regarding the use of green edge markers to prevent ‘light scatter’ FAQ… Q) Why didn’t you just rip the CDs into the computer? A) Because I wanted to use a regular Audio CD player. As the improvements mentioned related to the quality of audio produced during CD *playback* (at 1x), this is what I chose to concentrate on. ONE SLIGHT CORRECTION to this video… The Dave Brubeck Hybrid SACDs I bought cost me £ each - not the £ I mentioned in the video. So that’s a bit of a bargain. If anyone is interested here’s an AFFILIATED LINK to the discs I ordered. However I can’t guarantee you’ll receive SACDs like I did ...but I also don’t see why you wouldn’t. ------------- Merchandise ----------------- New Techmoan Merchandise is now available. --------------- SUBSCRIBE ------------------ ------------- SUPPORT --------------- This channel can be supported through Patreon *******Patrons usually have early access to videos******* ---------- Outro Music ----------- Over Time - Vibe Tracks ------ Outro Sound Effect ------ ThatSFXGuy - ------ AFFILIATED LINKS/ADVERTISING NOTICE ------- All links are Affiliated where possible. A) Patrons usually have early access to videos. I'll show the first version of a video on Patreon and often the feedback I get results in a video going through further revisions to improve it. e.g. Fix audio issues, clarify points, add extra footage or cut extraneous things out. The video that goes live on youtube is the final version. If you want to see the videos early too, you can sign up to Patreon here:
