Band: KINO Year: recorded in 1986/released in 2020 The full information about the album is below the video Любовь – это не шутка (Love Is No Joke) is the previously unreleased, unfinished studio album by KINO. In the early fall of 1985, bassist Titov left the band in favor of another one. Tsoi asked the best Leningrad Rock Club bassist, avant-garde musician Tikhomirov, to join them permanently. The band reached its final form. “... and, of course, it was the best choice, because he played bass like a god,“ drummer Guryanov later remembered. Soon they headed to audio engineer Vishnya's to record a new album. But this time, everything went wrong as the engineer didn't have enough time to mix his main job with studio work. The guys weren't pleased with the raw, unpolished sound and soon shelved the unfinished recording. In June 1986, they went to Kyiv to appear in the graduate work of a film student and used a few of these songs in it. Around the same time, Joanna Stingray smuggled a Portastudio into Leningrad and handed it to the band after they got home. In a year and a half, the guys had set up their own makeshift recording studio, dramatically changed their musical style, and finished the next album.
