How do I choose a category for my YouTube video in 2023? Youtube category expert Data Mining Mike explains in this trending new hit. While the Youtube audience prefers ‘Gaming’, ‘Entertainment’, and ‘Music’; The Youtube algorithm favors ‘How to’, ‘Education’, and ‘Science & Tech’. Hello World! My Name is Data Mining Mike. I am a Data Scientist and the largest Data Mining Influencer on the Planet. I mine through datasets and give you valuable insights to grow your brand or channel! I mined through over 1 million rows of trending Youtube video data and I found a gold mine of information! I am highly confident, at the end of this video, you will be able to take what you have learned and get Traffic Boners! But First, be sure to ‘like’ and ‘share’ this video, so it will increase your Digital Karma (aka profile ranking). That’s not all. Smashing the bell gives you access to data-driven updates and trending keywords. Words you should leave in the comments like: New Home Craft Makeup Recipe Tutorial on a Pregnancy Challenge Cake Review. Moreover, in this video, I will just give you a wavetop analysis at an eighth-grade reading level. As Albert Einstein said if you can't explain it to a six year old then you really don't know it yourself. But if you want to watch the nerdier scientific video covering all the Python code to go along with a peer-reviewed blog article, then watch this video here (point up to the left). When I take the data the first thing I have to do is I must clean the data because its dirty and contains a lot of irrelevant and missing pieces. For this analysis I focused on likes, dislikes, comment count, and views. When I plotted the raw frequency video categories as this bar chart, the Results are as you see here, with ‘Gaming’ and ‘Entertainment’ tied for first and music video’s 2nd. When I generated this graph plotting the category ID's against the total number of views this is the result. Indicating that the category getting the most views is music videos. The tool I create is called Engagement Per View. It is created by combining likes dislikes and comment count, then dividing the number of views by that sum. When I plotted EPV against video category, the result appears to be a bell-shape curve of the video categories of “How to”, “Education”, and “Science & Tech”. I ran this bell-shape curve through a test and it tested positive for being “perfectly-deliberate”. Because bell-shaped curves are a sign of the creator, that means your voice will be heard if they are in one of these three categories! You might be wondering why I am dressed like an idiot. The first reason is it's eye catching, The second reason is even if I wore a suit I wouldn't get as much respect as I would with this ice axe. Third reason is I'm a trendsetter. While on the West side of Washington state (Seattle), data scientists of all genders wear Costco clothes and women's sweaters. On the east side of the state we actually work for a living, and it’s an OSHA requirement to wear a helmet to protect me when I'm mining your data. I also wear a strong flannel shirt because it looks more manly. So, if you were to go to a Google search bar and type in: “how to dress like a data miner” this will be the most competitive video. Not only does it match search intent but it has the data to back it up. You might also be wondering, can you use EPV against upload hour to find out when the best time to upload your video to YouTube is? I did do that, and you can learn more about that in this video here (Point up to the left): In fact I can engineer all sorts of features for various data to discover informational gold nuggets. For example stock market data and what I discovered is that you should try McDonalds hot Fries dipped in vanilla ice cream. Dat Dat Dat Dat DA Im loving them dividends. With this information I am highly confident that you can take what you learned and apply it. Be Sure to, Like, Subscribe, and Smash that Bell for more data driven updates.
