Taking a trip to Lakeland, the largest lake district in Europe, is like taking a trip into the heart of Finnish identity. The Finnish people’s DNA is the most diverse in all of Europe. Extremes are literally in our blood. In honour of Finland’s centenary celebration, we’ll extract Finnish people’s DNA from the extreme points of the country. The cello metal band Apocalyptica will then turn the genetic data into an original piece of music. The Symphony of Extremes premieres in late 2017.
