Armenia detains opposition leader Tevanyan — protests for Pashinyan’s resignation continue in Yerevan Armenian police detained one of the opposition leaders and head of the Mother Armenia bloc Andranik Tevanyan, as well as several people from a group of his supporters. They participated in a protest rally accompanied by blocking the streets. Some students of Andranik Margaryan school also joined the rallies. Police have already built a wall in several rows near the Armenian government, where a new protest is scheduled to take place in an hour, as well as a session of the Cabinet. Earlier, the opposition said it was switching to a round-the-clock format for the rallies. They will continue until Nikol Pashinyan resigns. Such unrest in Yerevan was preceded by an escalation over Nagorno-Karabakh, which was surrendered to Azerbaijan. In response, opposition leaders are calling for more and more citizens to join the protests. Pashinyan himself has promised to act tough and prevent bloodshed.
