It's very easy, just follow the steps. The first thing we do is we go to and then you press enter. Then we're going to press this big blue button 'Manage now. Then you will open up a new tab to log you in. Or if you're already logged in, you can see over there. The first thing we need to do is adding in your business name. Your official business name, in our case “Joe the Plumber“. When you have typed it in, you might see your own address in over here. Because then Google has already matched it with your website or maybe you're already in the listing over here. If you're already in the listing, go to Google Maps. If you're already listed in here but you're not currently managing this account, go to Google Maps find your own listing and look for this: “Claim this business“. Click on it and you're gonna open up a new tab and then you can claim your own business. But in this video we're going to create a new business with this name. So click on this button, and press 'Continue'. Business type is very important, do you have an online retail; people can buy products on your website? Do you have a local store that people can buy physical products inside of your physical store? Or do you have a service business where you just make appointments and you can visit your customers. Joe the Plumber is a business that visits customers, so I'm gonna select this one. Maybe you have both you can just select both of them, maybe you have all three that's fine but just select the ones that describes your business the best. In our case we have a business that makes visits to customers. Press 'Next'. The business category is very important for Google. So we're gonna fill in plumber over there and you can see all these categories that are available for you. But maybe you are a designer, or you are in construction, or maybe you're in consultancy, maybe you're a website designer... just select the one that fits your needs. We go with plumber and press 'Next'. Well where do we serve our customers? If you operate locally, now this step is really important. Here we need to fill in where our target audience is at, and where we work - our work area. So in this case I'm going with Las Vegas in Nevada. Make sure to check this. Because when I put in Las Vegas in Nevada, this is the area Google Maps that is actually showing me. You see these red dots? Because Google Maps sees North Las Vegas as this area so make sure to fill in all the areas you're servicing in Google Business. This is actually what I mean. We have now Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Spring Valley, Paradise and Henderson. This is the way it should be. You can aways change it afterwards, just make sure that your service area is well put in there. Press 'Next'. These are the contact details you want customers to contact you. A phone number and website will do, and press 'Next'. And this is exactly what we want. We want to get discovered, respond to reviews and manage your business details across Google. If you want to opt in for their newsletter ,then you get some news and tips about how to improve it. They send mails every other week about uh - hey what are your opening hours? You have some reviews, a reminder that you should add in stories that you shoot in photos, all these things. If you want that enable this one if you don't just disable it and press 'Continue'. Then we need to verify our physical mailing address. In this case you fill in your entire street address, the city state, ZIP code and you press 'Next'.... 📖 Read the rest of the transcript at #GoogleBusiness #Tutorial
