Harrow, Greater London. Mr Duncan Haws has one of the largest collections of model ships built by one man - himself. Various C/Us of Mr Haws as he works on a model. C/Us of some of the models which are very small - the scale is one inch to one hundred feet. Every evening Mr Haws comes home from work with a travel organisation to model making by the fireside. The narrator observes: “It's more than a hobby with him - it is a passionate and painstaking life's work!“ C/U of Mr Haws hands as he prepares another model. The boats are made from cardboard and paper, they average a few inches in length. It is painstaking work. Mr Haws picks up a book of boat illustrations to compare with his model.
