I love all the requests I'm getting--I truly do: Especially awesome concerts like this one: This is the first show of The Works Tour--meaning Freddie is in excellent vocal shape. He NAILS songs like “Seven Seas Of Rhye,“ “It's A Hard Life,“ and “I Want To Break Free.“ The gig is complete (albeit with a few cuts), and has fairly good audio quality! Now, more on Freddie's voice... Beginning in 1980, Freddie had started smoking cigarettes to give his voice a huskier quality. The full effect of his smoking habit is heard for the first time on this tour (it started as early as 1983--while recording with Michael Jackson, and recording songs for “The Works“ and “Mr. Bad Guy“). Freddie's voice has a more deeper and raspier quality to it: While it makes him sound EXTREMELY powerful in his lower and middle ranges, his higher range has lost “sweetness“ and “clarity“ to it.
