(Edit) On this 50th anniversary, how in 1969, as Woodstock was being held, how Bob Dylan, who lived in 'Woodstock', was not there but at one of the UK's biggest music venues, at Wootton, in the 'Isle of Wight' Festival'. And how both Woodstock and the Isle of Wight Festivals shared the same spirit of that time. See below for the full report, on how he came to the Isle of Wight, why he came instead of Woodstock and what occurred there. Isle of Wight Festival ran from 1968 - 1970 and again from - 2002 to present (this date at least). The 1970 event apparently had 600,000 people turn up which was five times more than the entire population of the island itself. For the full story (1969) see here:
