Full title reads: “Dublin - THE WHEEL OF FORTUNE - for somebody - and if it wasn't for you this time - well, there's the Derby!“ Dublin, Republic of Ireland. Masses of people on the streets of Dublin. Some sort of wooden totem - a Hoodoo is floating ablaze at the river Liffey. Masses of people watching it burning - bad luck has been burned. A massive black cat float - representing good luck - slowly moves through the crowds. Young men and women in silk costume place the wooden boxes on the street. Girls dressed as nurses standing in front of a huge 'playing cards drum'. Nurses draw out the numbers - this looks like a town lottery. A man in uniform takes the numbers from nurses and places them into small drum. One of the nurses draws a number from the small drum. She gives it to the soldier and he leaves. This is the draw for the Grand National Sweepstake. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV. IT'S FULL OF GREAT DOCUMENTARIES, FASCINATING INTERV
