Иркутск и Байкал холодной зимой 1967 года Irkutsk and Lake Baikal in the cold winter of 1967 Here I present another fascinating set of photographs from my series of The Soviet Union in the 1960s. For me, what is remarkable about these photographs is that little has changed here in the past 50 years The monument is dedicated to Emperor Alexander III, the father of the Nicholas II, the last Emperor of Russia. The statue still stands to this day..... The photographs of Lake Baikal are mainly centred around the village of Listvyanka. I spent a weekend here not so long ago and walked down the street with the traditional wooden houses. Music: From 'The Lady & the Hooligan“ by D. Shostakovich
