The Race is On - George Jones - Grateful Dead - Cigar Box Guitar

It has been too long since I posted a new video, and there is a bit of rust to shake off. I first knew “The Race is On” by way of the good ol’ Grateful Dead, but this version is probably closer to the George Jones version from “I Get Lonely in a Hurry” (1965). Playing this on my 3 string cigar box guitar, which needs new strings, through a Digitech delay pedal set to a nice slap echo.
